UNSW Canberra Students & Staff
UNSW Canberra students and UNSW Canberra staff, are automatically registered as Academy Library members when they finalise enrolment (for students) or the HR on-boarding processes (for staff).
As soon as staff and students have their zID details they can access all of the UNSW Library electronic resources (e.g. ebooks, electronic journal articles, databases, streaming videos, etc.) and their myLibrary account. Staff and students can also use their ZID and password to login to the Library computers.
ADFA Personnel Members
ADFA Personnel members need to come to the Library to start the registration process. You will be required to complete a library registration form and an OSA02 form to obtain zID logins. Once zID details have been issued ADFA Personnel members can access all of the UNSW Library electronic resources (e.g. ebooks, electronic journal articles, databases, streaming videos, etc.) and their myLibrary account. More information is provided to you through the ADFA Members: Welcome to the Academy Library guide.
ADFA ID Card
To access and borrow from the onsite library, UNSW staff and students and ADFA Personnel members need to obtain a ADFA (Student/Staff ID) card through Information, Communication and Technology Services (ICTS). The ADFA ID card is your library card and it is necessary if ADFA Personnel, staff and students want to borrow physical items, use the printer/copiers/scanners and the 24/7 Service.
Other Memberships
The Academy Library offers a range of other memberships (see below for more details for each category). All of these memberships will require a completed membership form and supporting documentation.
To finalise - the process requires a to visit the ICTS Centre (Building 14) at UNSW Canberra during business hours. The ICTS staff will take your photo for your ADFA card.
Note that there may be a short delay (up to 24 hours) before full borrowing privileges are available. For information on borrowing privileges for each library membership, see Borrowing Information.
