Julie originally trained as a psychologist and has worked in Defence, state health and private practice. She particularly enjoyed her work in psychiatric settings where she was able to assist clients to better cope with a range of serious mental health conditions. With this background, and experience working as a psychologist in organisational settings, she has an interest in mental wellbeing in the workplace and approaches that support this. Julie also has an interest in the future of work and women making a meaningful contribution to what this looks like. Julie enrolled in the Professional Doctorate (Public Management) to further her academic interests and plans to conduct research on the topic of women's leadership development. She is currently living in Canberra with her partner, two children, and the family dog Toby. She enjoys reading, walking, and music.
